Alkaline (born Earlan Bartley) is a Jamaican reggae-dancehall artist known for his sharp lyricism, unconventional style, and boundary-pushing sound. Rising from Kingston’s vibrant dancehall scene in the early 2010s, he quickly built a loyal global fanbase with hit songs like “Champion Boy,” “Formula,” and “Ocean Wave.”
Often referred to as the leader of the Vendetta movement, Alkaline is celebrated for blending hardcore dancehall energy with melodic, introspective themes, while maintaining a mysterious, independent image. His debut album New Level Unlocked (2021) debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart, cementing his status as one of the most influential and innovative artists of his generation.
